Alamo Beer Co. has appointed a 20-year veteran of the craft-brewing scene to its management staff.
Germany-born professional Jan Matysiak — whose resume contains stints at Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Brewery and West Texas’ Huge Bend Brewing — now holds the title of vice chairman of operations for San Antonio-based Alamo.
“[Matysiak’s] an actual identify within the business. General, he has a stable mixture of technical information, sensible expertise, and enterprise abilities, making him a major asset to any brewery he is concerned with,” Alamo Beer founder Eugene Simor mentioned in a press launch. “We’re excited to have him and his management right here at Alamo.”
Matysiak graduated with a level in brewing science from the Technical College of Munich-Weihenstephan, which hosts one of many world’s prime brewing applications. He hung out at Memminger Brewery in Bavaria earlier than shifting to America to discover the increasing craft-beer market, Alamo officers mentioned.
As soon as stateside, Matysiak landed at Sixpoint — recognized for enigmatic, uncooked and unfiltered brews — the place he was concerned in launching dozens of latest beers and overseeing manufacturing at a number of amenities. Later, Matysiak made his Lone Star State debut at Alpine’s Huge Bend Brewing.
Alamo Beer is situated at 202 Lamar St., close to the Hays Road Bridge east of downtown. The brewery opened in 2014.
