A San Antonio police officer was suspended final month on accusations that he referred to as in sick so he may play within the police union’s annual basketball match, in line with disciplinary information obtained by the Present.
Paperwork exhibits that San Antonio Police Division Officer John Paul McDonald, a four-year veteran, referred to as in sick on July 22. Nonetheless, his superiors performed a verify on the match that afternoon.
“Officer McDonald was on the match and was actively enjoying basketball and clearly not sick,” the information state.
SAPD issued McDonald a three-day suspension for violating division guidelines prohibiting officers from faking sickness or damage to get out of labor, in line with the report. He served the suspension Sept. 19-21.
The disciplinary information do not say how properly McDonald carried out on the match.
