Enterprise house owners who graduated from UTSA’s new academy discovered expertise they stated are wanted to compete with bigger corporations in procurement.
Two dozen small-business house owners graduated Thursday from the College of San Antonio’s inaugural Procurement Academy, a 10-week course designed to assist entrepreneurs land authorities contracts.
This system — a part of UTSA’s Institute of Financial Improvement’s Middle for Authorities Contracting — was created with the assistance of former mayor Henry Cisneros and U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, who helped safe its funding.

Among the many graduates was Shantana L. Robinson, the founding father of San Antonio-based MFDA Artistic Group LLC., a consulting agency that makes a speciality of “filling within the hole” with the day-to-day operations of small companies.
