TJ’s Hamburgers celebrated 50 years in March.
After 50 years of serving hungry Alamo Metropolis residents, Southside staple TJ’s Hamburgers is closing, based on an Instagram put up by Folklores Espresso Home Sunday afternoon.
A handwritten signal posted on the entrance door of the restaurant conveyed the information to its prospects.
“It comes with a heavy coronary heart, we’re now not capable of keep open. We’re past grateful to have spent all these years with y’all,” the handwritten signal stated.
The restaurant was based by Thomas Carruthers and his spouse Bea in 1973, based on MySA. Regardless of the demise of its founder in 2017, the restaurant continued working beneath the identical crew.
“So many reminiscences. Good or unhealthy, Tjs was our household hangout,” Folklores Espresso Home wrote in its Instagram put up.
The restaurant selected to honor the late Carruthers in its last message, signing off with the phrase, “In Carruthers’ honor.”
