The Metropolis of San Antonio has launched a brand new public artwork set up that honors Indigenous individuals linked to Mission San Jose and the neighborhood’s enduring legacy.
The 15-foot-tall concrete and metal sculpture, “Kindred,” stands in Council District 3 close to Mission Highway. It was commissioned from San Antonio artist Ashley Perez, director of the visible arts program at SAY Sí.
