
Democratic state Rep. James Talarico on Tuesday will announce his bid for a Texas U.S. Senate seat on Tuesday, as first reported by Politico.
Hypothesis that Talarico was contemplating a run for a statewide or federal workplace reached a fever pitch this summer time following his well-received interview with right-wing Podcaster Joe Rogan, who was so impressed with the Pflugerville politician that he inspired him to run for president.
Talarico additionally drew consideration throughout the Texas Legislature’s contentious summer time session as he skewered Republicans for attempting to pressure by what he painted as an unpopular and undemocratic agenda.
The up-and-comer will face former NFL star and U.S. Rep. Colin Allred within the Democratic major.
Allred has confronted criticism for a scarcity of media appearances and negligible public outreach. Certainly, some Democrats didn’t even need him to run once more after his embarrassing defeat to incumbent U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz throughout the 2024 election.
