
Ruby Metropolis and MonteVideo will be part of Slab Cinema this Saturday for a screening and dialogue of ASCO: With out Permission, a documentary by Travis Gutiérrez Senger in regards to the ’70s Chicano artwork collective Energetic, Social, Conceptual, Observational.
Eschewing conventional types of Chicanx artwork corresponding to murals, ASCO offered performative, conceptually based mostly work that ran the gamut from public reenactments of the Stations of the Cross to faux crime scenes.
