
As worry and anger develop over Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s aggressive sweeps in blue cities, one Democrat operating to be Bexar County’s subsequent district lawyer is pledging to research the company if he’s elected.
“I’m the one candidate saying we’re going to research ICE,” Bexar County DA candidate Shannon Locke mentioned Sunday at a Democratic marketing campaign occasion within the Alamo Metropolis. “If Donald Trump or Greg Abbott brings that right here, we’re going to research them to the fullest extent of the regulation.”
The board-certified legal protection lawyer made the feedback throughout a rally at Southtown’s Taco Haven for Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, a Dallas Democrat operating in opposition to Republican U.S. Sen. John Cornyn.
“Being the district lawyer means defending our most weak residents,” Locke advised the Present. “No targets. No favors. Justice for all.”
Locke’s feedback got here the day after lots of took to downtown San Antonio streets to protest masked ICE agent Jonathan Ross’ slaying of 37-year-old Minneapolis lady Renee Good. Residents of U.S. cities nationwide staged related demonstrations over the weekend.
In Minneapolis, ICE brokers have been caught on video overseeing checkpoints, conducting operations at colleges, raiding eating places and even detaining a DoorDash driver.
