
The mixed-media exhibition “Reminiscences a Lifetime In the past” by San Antonio-based artist Juan Vallejo, which opens this Saturday, examines his expertise rising up as a migrant employee.
Vallejo’s youthful reminiscences of months spent planting and harvesting alongside his household now stream by his fingers into works artwork. Utilizing his tactile reference to ceramic, burlap sacks, material and located objects, the artist makes use of this tactile connection to explores identification, tradition and the forces that form reminiscences.
