VIA holding public classes this month to collect suggestions on enhancements to bus routes

San Antonio’s mass-transit system will host public data classes this month to collect suggestions on its “Higher Bus Plan,” which is predicted to be applied in early 2026.

The plan goals to enhance reliability and effectivity throughout VIA’s system. It contains enhancements to 27 bus routes and the retirement of 4 extra: Route 243 Flores/Pleasonton, Route 296 Vance Jackson, Route 614 Hidden Cove/Kel-Lac and Route 617 Kel-Lac/Rainbow Hills.

The plan additionally embody service changes, route openings, route closures, cease frequency adjustments, schedule changes and extra. A listing of all proposed amendments to the VIA system is offered on-line. 

If accepted by VIA’s board, the adjustments will go into impact on in January.

VIA will host two public hearings on the adjustments. The primary will probably be Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Lackland Baptist Church, 2718 Frontier Drive. The second will happen Thursday, Oct. 25, on the VIA Metro Heart, 1021 San Pedro Ave. Each hearings will start at 5:30 p.m.

Extra VIA information classes will probably be held all through the center of the month; all classes listed beneath will run from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 21, at North Star Transit Heart, 7538 San Pedro Ave., 78216

Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Randolph Transit Heart, 9400 IH 35 North, 78233

Residents also can submit suggestions on-line through the online or ship electronic mail to GCR@VIAinfo.internet.
