Have fun Día de los Muertos with San Antonio’s “Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones”

San Antonio’s World Heritage Workplace invitations the neighborhood to unite for a strong and exquisite celebration, “Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones,” on Saturday, November 2, 2024. From 3 to 10 p.m., this free annual occasion will honor the spirit of Día de los Muertos, a time to recollect family members and rejoice cultural heritage. The celebration is open to the general public and gives a family-friendly atmosphere on the historic Mission Marquee Plaza.

The occasion begins at 3 p.m. with a novel drum and dance procession from Mission San José Granary to Mission Marquee Plaza, a symbolic tribute to the legacy of San Antonio’s historic Missions and their descendants. Reflecting on the importance of this gathering, District 3 Councilmember Phyllis Viagran stated, “Dia de los Muertos is a chance for us to rejoice and honor our family members who’ve handed, reinforcing our connections to household and neighborhood.”

Mission Marquee Plaza will come alive with music, meals, dance, and interactive actions following the procession. Company can get pleasure from stay performances by gifted native teams, take part in face-painting and craft workshops, and admire contributors within the Catrina y Catrin contest, which celebrates the standard “elegant cranium” apparel. Esteemed San Antonio artist and poet Anthony “The Poet” Flores will emcee the occasion.

7:15 p.m. – Remembrance Tribute on the massive display screen
8:10 to eight:30 p.m. – Zombie Bazaar Panza Fusión efficiency
8:30 to 10:00 p.m. – Screening of “The E book of Life”
