San Antonio’s Garrett T. Capps and NASA Nation are identified for his or her oddball taste of cosmic nation.

Garrett T. Capps and NASA Nation have launched a brand new single, “Movement State,” forward of the group’s forthcoming sophomore album Everyone seems to be Everybody.

Capps is a scion of San Antonio’s cosmic nation lineage, which began with Doug Sahm and later branched off to incorporate boundary-pushing cowpunk and psychedelic acts from the Hickoids to the Butthole Surfers.

Everyone seems to be Everybody is the prequel to what Capps refers to as his “Shadows trilogy.” That trio of releases contains his solo albums Within the Shadows (Once more) and All Proper, All Night time, adopted by NASA Nation’s debut album, the anthemic, spaced-out 2022 launch Persons are Stunning.

Very similar to the title monitor of Persons are Stunning, the title of Everyone seems to be Everybody appears to espouse a radically limitless love for all mankind. This philosophy calls to thoughts an astronaut’s first view of earth from house. Abruptly it is clear: we’re all on this collectively on this valuable, fragile orb.

Everyone seems to be Everybody was recorded at Joe Treviño’s Blue Cat Studios in Southtown. The album is being launched by Spaceflight, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit label based mostly in Austin.

“Movement State” was preceded by the album’s first single “Ouray,” which Capps describes as a “cosmic river jam.”

The newest single opens with a sound chunk wherein a voice discusses liminal areas — an obvious name for the listener to tune in, activate and drop out. The recording is definitely native artist and musician Fred Himes of Los Mescaleros giving the band a ghost tour of the Gunter Lodge final December.

The music kicks in with a driving rhythm that builds power behind a mellow, J.J. Cale-esque melody. “Dwelling my life in a stream state,” Capps sings within the tune’s zen-like opening line.

Apart from Capps, NASA Nation consists of legendary San Antonio bass participant Odie, jazz drummer Kory Prepare dinner, lead guitarist and concrete farmer Torin Metz and Justin Boyd, the “Brian Eno of the group” who places the cosmic in “cosmic nation” along with his modular synthesizer.

The band will throw a launch celebration for Everyone seems to be Everybody on Nov. 14 on the Lonesome Rose, of which Capps is proprietor. The present additionally will function the sixth-anniversary bash of the self-described “oldest honky tonk on the St. Mary’s Strip.” Capps and the band will share the stage with assist acts Elnuh and Valuable Gems.

Those that cannot wait till November to see these galactic gauchos dwell can have a lot of probabilities earlier than then, together with Sept. 26 in New Braunfels on the River Revival Fest and Oct. 10 on the Kerrville Folks Competition’s Welcome House Fest.
