Gentle washes over a costumed dancer in certainly one of City-15’s Summer time Solstice performances.
San Antonio arts group City-15 will current its twenty third annual Summer time Solstice dance efficiency on Thursday, June 29, beneath the lighted squares of Christopher Janney’s public art work Passing Gentle, a photo voltaic sculpture put in 20 years in the past on the San Antonio Worldwide Airport.
The free efficiency begins at 2 p.m., the second when the solar reaches its highest level within the skies of the Northern Hemisphere, based on an announcement from City-15.
Created and carried out by City-15 Creative Director Catherine Cisneros, the solo dance, lit by the photo voltaic zenith, integrates motion evoking ceremonial solstice rituals of a number of historic cultures together with the Aztecs, Celts, Egyptians, Mayans and the Incas.
