The San Antonio Botanical Backyard’s latest artwork exhibition, “Huntopia,” celebrates internationally acclaimed artist Hunt Slonem, who’s constructed a prolific profession as each a painter and sculptor.
Slonem’s work has appeared in additional than 350 exhibitions together with these on the Metropolitan Museum of Artwork and the Whitney Museum of American Artwork in New York Metropolis.
This exhibition — Slonem’s outside sculpture debut — showcases sprawling sculptural representations of his three Bs: bunnies, birds and butterflies. Along with the sculptures, the exhibition will embody Slonem works created from tens of hundreds of hand-cut, hand-applied items of coloured glass.
Guided excursions will likely be out there weekly, together with occasional workshops in tie-dyeing, printmaking and cocktail mixing. A grand opening ceremony for San Antonio Botanical Backyard members will happen Thursday, Could 2, and your complete “Huntopia” exhibition is included within the value of backyard admission.
