The Metropolis of San Antonio has named Educator Eduardo “Eddie” Vega its seventh poet laureate.
Along with serving as an administrator at Holy Cross prep college, Vega is a poet, storyteller and spoken-word artist who’s revealed two full-length poetry collections, Chicharra Refrain and Somos Nopales, in keeping with San Antonio’s Division of Arts and Tradition. He additionally edited Asinia Is How We Discuss, an anthology of Tejano poetry.
A self-described “taco poet,” Vega’s phrases have additionally been displayed on VIA Buses, downtown buildings and on the San Pedro Creek Cultural Park, in keeping with his on-line bio.
