A Raisin within the Solar tells the story of a Black household residing on the South Aspect of Chicago.

In honor of Black Historical past Month, The Traditional Theatre of San Antonio is presenting Lorraine Hansbury’s landmark drama A Raisin within the Solar, which can happen on the firm’s new dwelling on the San Pedro Playhouse, within the former Cellar Theater area.

A Raisin within the Solar first premiered on Broadway in 1959 and tells the story of a Black household residing on the South Aspect of Chicago and its wrestle in opposition to discrimination and financial hardship.
