The Plaza San Antonio Lodge & Spa has been beneath renovation since 2020.

The Plaza San Antonio Lodge & Spa will open Thursday, bringing 253 visitor rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a resort-style pool and a day spa to the revamped area that previously housed downtown’s Marriott Plaza resort, based on officers with the posh property.

The brand new addition to San Antonio’s resort scene sits on the nook of South Alamo Avenue and East Cesar Chavez Boulevard. Repurposed nineteenth century buildings home the resort’s day spa together with full-service restaurant Corinne and the Anaqua Backyard Bar.

Led by Government Chef Joseph Krauss, Corinne will serve weekday breakfast, lunch and dinner together with weekend brunch and dinner. The menu weaves collectively basic American meals with South Texas and Gulf Coast influences, Plaza officers stated. The eatery additionally options an in depth cocktail and wine program.

Named after the property’s historic 42-foot tall Anaqua tree, Anaqua Backyard Bar overlooks the resort’s outside pool and can characteristic “a fusion of Japanese foodways with Latin custom, creative botanical-forward cocktails, lush seating and a curated soundtrack to create a Zen oasis,” Plaza officers stated.

Indiana-based resort administration agency White Lodging took over the downtown property in August 2019. It has been conducting renovations for the reason that summer season 2020.
