Morning commuters received a shock Thursday after a twister touched down on San Antonio’s East Facet, in keeping with meteorologists and social media posts.
The weak twister was sighted close to Joint Base San Antonio-Sam Houston at round 8 a.m., the navy set up confirmed on X, the social media platform previously often known as Twitter.
“Joint Base San Antonio climate has confirmed a short, very weak twister touched down on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston round 8 a.m this morning,” the bottom tweeted through is official account. “There aren’t any reported accidents, however downed bushes and a few injury to automobiles have been reported.”

The twister sighting was additionally confirmed by KSAT and in addition by Fox San Antonio meteorologist Brad Sowder, who tweeted that there have been stories of injury in Terrell Hills.

Commuters posted movies on X of the twister, which seems to have touched down close to the intersection of I-35 and U.S. Freeway 281 and traveled north towards Brackenridge Park, in keeping with KSAT meteorologist Justin Horne.

Though injury is being reported close to Brackenridge Park, the San Antonio Zoo let the group know that no creatures in its care had been harmed.

Regardless of the attention witness accounts and video proof, the Nationwide Climate Service (NWS) has not but confirmed whether or not a twister touched down in San Antonio or the place the phenomenon ranked on the Fujita scale — if in any respect.
