The alleged bomb scare at UTSA is simply the newest hoax to plague San Antonio-area faculties.

College of Texas at San Antonio canceled some afternoon lessons Monday after its North Aspect campus acquired what officers now say was a non-credible bomb risk.

Beginning round 1:30 p.m., UTSA issued a string of posts on social media platform X, previously referred to as Twitter, explaining it had acquired a bomb risk on its major campus. Though officers mentioned they do not consider the threats are credible, UTSA police cleared the campus’ Principal Constructing, Enterprise Constructing and Flawn Science Constructing.

‘Runners, we’ve got acquired a bomb risk particular to 3 buildings on the Principal Campus. UTSA Police are at the moment checking all services. Whereas this risk isn’t thought-about credible, out of an abundance of warning we’re clearing the Principal Constructing,

“Lessons in these buildings are canceled till 4 p.m., and buildings shall be locked,” one of many tweets reads. “All data signifies this risk is a hoax.”

The risk is the newest in a string of hoax calls concentrating on native campuses this college 12 months.

In September, San Antonio’s East Central Excessive College was the sufferer of a bomb risk and a college taking pictures hoax, as reported by the Specific-Information.

The bomb risk towards UTSA additionally comes because the battle in Israel has led to SAPD heightening safety measures round attainable terrorist assault targets.
