OPERA San Antonio will open its season with Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera Hansel and Gretel in early October.
The eerie and thrilling opera relies on the Brothers Grimm kids’s story of the identical title. Within the opera, siblings Hansel and Gretel grow to be misplaced in a forest, finally stumbling upon a gingerbread home, a bounty that appears too good to be true. Because it seems, it’s: the pair is captured by a witch, and should struggle to flee earlier than she will be able to eat them.
