Downtown San Antonio’s outdated Marriott Plaza — now referred to as Plaza San Antonio Resort & Spa — is sharing swanky sneak peeks of its upcoming bar and restaurant ideas, set to open this fall.
Corinne and Anaqua Backyard Bar’s Instagram feeds share extremely stylized pictures which have ramped up in the previous couple of weeks, promising “tropical aptitude … zen …[and] irresistible vibes.” They are going to open on the upgraded resort, 555 S. Alamo St., forward of the revamped visitor quarters, social media posts for the institutions notice.
Indiana-based resort administration agency White Lodging took over the downtown spot in August of 2019, and has been renovating the 251-room property because the summer season of 2020. Corrine’s social feed notes that the restaurant that may serve up eats influenced by South Texas and the Gulf Coast. Anaqua Backyard Bar — named after a historic Anaqua tree on the property — guarantees shaded courtyard digs and cocktails boasting “a fusion of Japanese foodways with Latin custom.”
So far as the renovated services, White Lodging’s web site describes resort-style rooms with non-public backyard balconies in addition to poolside cabanas and a vacation spot spa. Plaza San Antonio may also have an open-air pavilion, occasion garden and ballroom.
The Plaza San Antonio is situated on the intersection of S. Alamo and E. César E. Chávez Boulevard, throughout the road from Hemisfair.
