A statue of Lieutenant Colonel William Barret Travis stares at guests.
Because the downtown San Antonio historic website continues to improve its amenities, officers unveiled a statue of Travis in honor of his 214th birthday. The statue beforehand sat contained in the Collin County Courthouse for greater than a decade.
Travis, a lawyer and soldier, performed a crucial position within the Texas Revolution, main the Texian Military throughout the historic siege on the Alamo.

“This statue serves as a strong reminder of the braveness and willpower that formed Texas, and we should all the time cherish the reminiscence of those that fought valiantly for our freedom,” Texas Land Commissioner Daybreak Buckingham mentioned in a media assertion.
The statue, created by the artist James Muir, now sits within the Alamo’s Ralston Household Collections Heart together with 500 different artifacts.
